CLAY Museum of Ceramic Art Denmark has acquired seven important works by Martin Bodilsen Kaldahl, Bente Skjøttgaard, and Steen Ipsen. With this acquisition, the museum strengthens its collection of Danish contemporary ceramics while contributing to a more accurate representation of three artists who, over several decades, have distinguished themselves both nationally and internationally.
Alongside their individual practices, the three artists have played a central role in the development and visibility of the ceramic field through the exhibition platform Copenhagen Ceramics, which since 2012 has presented contemporary ceramics in Denmark and internationally.
The acquisition was made possible with the support of the New Carlsberg Foundation.
